Superweek of international matches in Eerikkilä

Eerikkilä will be celebrating a real superweek of international matches from May 4th to 11th, when the floorball and football youth national teams will play no less than 15 international matches over the course of just over a week.

In football, the “Minihuuhkajat” (Boys U16, born 2009 and later) will face Hungary, Ukraine and Greece, and in floorball, the Finnish U17 girls and boys will play triple matches against Switzerland.

The international match series actually starts with football before the super week on Tuesday 29 April, when the boys’ U15 national team faces Poland. Finland will also play against Hungary and Slovakia in the event.

The actual international match super week starts on Sunday 4 May. The Minihuuhkajat (U16) will face Hungary, Ukraine and Greece in the UEFA Development tournament. The Finnish team, led by head coach Erkka V. Lehtola, has been named to the event with an eye on the Baltic Cup in June.

The floorball international matches will also be played during the super week. The U17 age groups (born in 2008) will meet three times at the Future Stars event with Switzerland. The girls will participate in the event with one team and the boys with three teams.

“There is a lot of skill, speed and especially versatility in the age group,” says Lasse Korhonen, head coach of the U17 girls.

Even after the end of the super week, the series of international matches in Eerikkilä will continue. The U15 girls’ football team will play double international matches against the Czech Republic in mid-May. The U16 girls’ UEFA Development tournament will be played in Eerikkilä from 23 to 28 May. The “Pikkuhelmarit” will be hosting Belgium, Ireland and Switzerland in Eerikkilä.

Free admission to all matches

All football matches will be played on the new artificial turf pitch next to the Jari Litmanen Arena and floorball matches in the floorball hall. Admission to the matches is free, so you are welcome to cheer on the young athletes on the sidelines!

Our restaurant serves all our guests lunch daily from 11 am to 2 pm. In addition, Bar & Cafe 49 is open Mon-Sat from 4 pm to 11 pm (closed on Sundays).
